i want to ride my bicycle, i want to ride my bike.

last night i was in riverton. this is where my parents live. i attended a wedding in the morning and i am now waiting for nick to get back so we can return to provo. i helped my father mow the lawn and then went for a cruise on Uncle Brad's bike. it's such a smooth ride. the sun was about gone. my parents live in a neighborhood full of old people and young families, so i didn't have to worry too much about the adolescent male yelling bad words at me. i had my ipod with me. i just put on some instrumentals and rode on. it was a beautiful night. on this one path there are the largest dandy lions i have ever seen. the path led to the elementary school where i did construction last summer. it's just about finished. i rode around the parking lot, and four square courts, and basketball hoops. the bike ride wasn't very long, but it was about as refreshing as anything can be. it was kind of like one of those short dreams that you wake up from and you just want to go back to sleep. maybe it's for the best though, i think if they kept going it would do more harm than good. we'd wake up more depressed knowing our lives aren't that way. i'll still take 'em though. i'll take those dreams. the bike ride was one of those moments that could only be portrayed in an oscar-worthy film. for me, it would have beautiful music, the role of me would be played by brad pitt, or a young robert redford, and the camera shots would include the dandy lions. the only movie that's come close is Finding Forrester, when sean connery pumps up his bike tires, puts on his hat and rides through the city streets of New York. the music and everything is near perfect. just get on your bikes and ride. holler if you hear me.
