And I thought there were a lot of atoms in a pinhead

This is an artist's depiction of our milky way galaxy. Ofcourse we can never see this angle of the milky way because we are embedded in it.

This is what the center of the milky way looks like from earth. I learned today that there are around 400,000,000,000 stars in the milky way galaxy. I then learned that there around 50,000,000,000 galaxies that are very similar to our milky way galaxy that are within a seeable distance. It makes me wonder how many galaxies are out of our sight and exactly how big our universe is. Or how many universes there are.

We enjoyed these pictures too! My mom sent me an email with some really cheesy music, but besides that, it was really cool and Matthew pointed it out that it looked like the Milky Way! Smart kid--takes after his uncle!

Matthew says: "Whoa! That thing could like hold a thousand suns!"

the suns are the best ever. i hope they trash the spurs next year. i hate the spurs, i hope there are no spurs in the milky way.
