The ¨Butterfly Migration" has begun

So I guess it´s that time of the year. The seasons have changed. I can tell because I´m sick for the first time. I don´t pay attention to calendars to tell me when the season has changed, my body will tell me. I´m sitting in the computer lab of the Law Library here in Alcalá de Henares. When I first arrived pretty much all of the computers were taken. That´s not hard to do seeing how there´s only 16 of them, and out of those only about 12 work. I spotted a vacant computer. I put in my card that gives me access to use it. And then I tried to use the mouse only to discover that it didn´t work. Dang It. I guess it was kind of worth it, though, because I eventually found a computer. It faces the dysfunctional one. People have come, and people have gone. Many of them have tried to use the same computer that I tried. I could tell them that it doesn´t work, but I don´t, partially because I don´t want to speak spanish to them and have them not understanding me thus hurting my feelings and partly because I need a laugh every now and then too. Yesterday I got home late at night and ¨abuela¨ was up. Everyone stays up late here, though, so it was nothing out of the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary is that she was a little upset. Some people came to fix a leak and only made it worse. I´d be upset too. She told me she was afraid she was going to wake up at night, open the door, and see rats and cockaroaches everywhere. I didn´t know what to say. Instead I sang ¨La cucaracha, la cucaracha, ya no puede caminar...¨ I didn´t sing it out loud, of course. Only in my head. There were no cucarachas or ratas in the house this morning.
