Sure, I'll be your friend, but im using your picture

This fine looking fellow wants to be my friend on facebook. I'm all about being friendly, but I think it is odd that facebook emboldens people to be "friends" with people they have never met before. I don't believe anyone would ever show up at my doorstep, ask me to be their friend, and then walk away and never talk to me again. And yet that is in effect what this attractive young man was doing when he asked to be my friend through facebook.

Maybe he is in a competition with one of his real friends to see how many facebook friends he can get. I don't have direct permission to use his picture here on deepthoughts, but seeing as I am his friend I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

you should probably further your friendship by inviting him to participate in all 30,000 of the facebook applications.

Thanks for adding me, Rob. I just browsed through Michelle's list of friends and saw your picture and added you for obvious reasons. I'd actually love to come to your doorstep. Where do you live?

I agree with Soda.. it's true facebook is taking a turn down the wrong road... it let go of the iron rod.

You never know... this could be your new best friend.
